Yay, museums! The Reykjavík Art Museum was awesome. Plus, when you get a ticket to one of 3 art museums in town, you can use it to get in to 2 other local art museums for free! But it has to be on the same day. Still, it’s a good deal, as they’re all walking or bussing distance from each other.

Anyway, the Erró exhibit was cool, but what I really loved, as I said in the comic, was the exhibit by Dan Perjovschi. Click that link, and you can see a video of a really good talk he gave at the museum. It’s a bit slow in parts, but overall, it’s great. During his talk, he shows a bunch of his political cartoons via projector. I find his work very witty, and often poignant. He also speaks about Romania, and I definitely learned things I didn’t know before.

The best part was, the room was empty when I went, so I could walk around and look at everything as closely as I liked, at my own pace. I generally prefer going to museums by myself, actually – and truly, traveling alone has similar benefits. I find that people are very rarely comfortable with the same level of planning/spontaneity as one another. So unless you’ve got an incredibly good relationship, I feel like at some point, someone is going to feel rushed or slowed down by the other. The solution is easy! Be by yourself all the time! : D … >_>; ……
