At the end of the Golden Circle tour, we stopped off at a spa with outdoor hot springs, which was very nice. As Iceland is such a volcanic country, many places which use geothermal energy as their heat source tend to have at least a slight sulfuric odor at times. Which of course, is not super pleasant. You get used to it the longer you’re there, but sometimes it’s stronger than others.
Nearby the outdoor baths, there were these sort of huts, which were saunas/steam baths (not sure which, or if those are different). I figured I’d give it a go, but almost as soon as I entered, I had to run out, due to an OVERWHELMING smell of sulfur. Auugghh. x_x;
